RPG Blog Carnival: WAR!

Happy March, folks...it's my favorite month of the year for no particular reason...it's also my turn to host this month's RPG Blogger Carnival...last month was hosted by the Carnival's original host The Core Mechanic, the topic being Maps and Monsters...this month, in honor of my miniscule Greco-Roman heritage, I want you all to march forth (HA! Pun.) and blog on war...

Anything at all related to mankind's oldest pastime within the realm of RPGs is fair game...could be anything ranging from how you handle a campaign centered around war to running battlefield combat without bringing the game to a screeching halt to developing a setting that somewhat accurately portrays a post-war environment to anything else that I didn't just mention...extra points to those of you who develop new weaponry, soldiers, starships, mechs, etc. for use in RPGs...gadgets hold a special place in my heart...my good friend Iggy will be posting some of his delicious d20 modern creations later this month (as irrelevant as they are in the Post-3E Era)...

Once you've got your post up, comment on this article with a link back to your post so I can include it in the month's Roundup...I'll be keeping my eye on the network feed, but I can't catch everything on my own...

I'm one of the least active bloggers in the network at the moment, mostly due to a mix of laziness and academic obligations...but I'll do the best I can with hosting this month's carnival, contributing as much worthwhile material as I can...15 silver points to each individual blogger who posts more than I do...have fun kids!...

If you're not sure what to post, but REALLY want those silver points, check out these past carnival contributions for inspiration...

Oh... my whole online campaign is centered around war...

I might actually write something for this month's carnival...

Anders Hällzon said...

War. War never changes. Maybe I should write about Wayne Reynolds (commonly referred to as WAR).

OK, OK, I have something brewing that I could post up before the end of March.

Awesome...glad y'all approve...

My contribution to this month's blog carnival is a rerun of my post "Wars in your fantasy campaign" that a) fits the theme of the blog carnival perfectly and b) needs a bit more love by the readers. Yeah, I am lazy at the moment. :)

I deleted the last comment because I posted the wrong URL by mistake... oops!

From Zombie Samurai: War in RPGs: The Holy War

I have two contributions, judge them both lacking if you see fit, but know I shall release upon you my infernal beasts of war should you even suggest that you hate their poetry.

Something for the carnival - a bit of 4E love for those who want to emulate the Second Horseman of the Apocalypse - upon a red horse and bearing a sword.

Hmm, interesting. Let me see if I can come up with something that is also tied to travel. Maybe something having to do with that minuscule Greco-Roman heritage you mention.

Ah, here we go. Social Intrigue part II - Inciting And Stopping War, part of an article series of, well, just two posts so far. No promises of a third.

Today is exactly 3 years since I started my play-by-post campaign so here is the creation process I took for it

The Origin of United We Stand

I have another smaller post in the pipeline, not sure when I'll finish it...

Took me way too long to get around to collecting my links. Might have something next Monday, but for now:

Batch-processing has its advantages.

Well, times up for me. Too bad I haven't been able to fit everything in one month but here's my collected list of links.

http://questinggm.blogspot.com/2009/03/races-at-war-dragonborn.html

http://questinggm.blogspot.com/2009/03/races-at-war-dwarf.html

http://questinggm.blogspot.com/2009/03/races-at-war-eladrin.html

http://questinggm.blogspot.com/2009/03/races-at-war-elf.html

http://questinggm.blogspot.com/2009/04/races-at-war-halfling.html

I would probably continue and finish the series next month.

Daniel M. Perez said...

So, when's the round-up being posted?

I was thinking the same thing... I suppose the Rev is just a bit busy...
