So I was just about to start writing my report on Saturday's preliminary game (and procrastinating on doing so by circumnavigating the intarwebs), when I came across this...Marvel is proud to reveal that Spider-Man and acclaimed television personality Stephen Colbert will join forces in an all new eight-page story featured in the extra-sized AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #573! Acclaimed writer Mark Waid and fan favorite artist Patrick Olliffe present Stephen Colbert, a candidate for the U.S. Presidency in the Marvel Universe, teaming up with Marvel's most iconic crime fighter. What could bring these two together? And what will it mean for both their futures?
Now, I don't often read comics meself (aside from those delicious free webcomics I come across in my travels)...so it's not likely I'll actually get around to reading this...but the Colbert-Spiderman mash-up definitely piques my interest...
Speaking of fictional presidents, I was watching the Presidential Debate last Friday...Obama was objecting to McCain wanting to drill for oil in the Gulf...all of a sudden, ONE started pounding FIVE and my brains rapidly gave birth to an idea...
Obama doesn't want to drill for oil, but Simon certainly would...shoot, he'd probably bring the wars we're fighting to a close...the republicans would have done much better in nominating him...I wanted to make a campaign poster in honor of this glorious mental infant, but I have not the means to do so...

Long story short, I gave the specs for the idea to my old roommate, Aron, and he whipped up this bad boy...the Obama color scheme is a nice touch...
I'll have the report up later tonight...don't fret kids!...
